Tax holiday bill picks up steam
A new and very different bill, proposed by a heretofore little-known congressman from Texas, is gaining traction from Republicans – and even a few Democrats, according to the sponsor. It's called "the tax-holiday plan." And one version of it picked up support from the National Federation of Independent Businesses, the nation's largest small business advocacy organization over the weekend.

Fred Thompson at his best!
Fred leaves no stone unturned in this brilliant, funny, sarcastic hit piece on the liberals and the economy. We may not have gotten him as president, but then again, we’d be missing out on stuff like this.

Ponzi Scheme at Citi Involves former Clinton Treasury Secretary
A new Citigroup scandal is engulfing Robert Rubin and his former disciple Chuck Prince for their roles in an alleged Ponzi-style scheme that's now choking world banking. Director Rubin and ousted CEO Prince - and their lieutenants over the past five years - are named in a federal lawsuit for an alleged complex cover-up of toxic securities that spread across the globe, wiping out trillions of dollars in their destructive paths.

U.S. Cities Brace for Mumbai-Style Attack
U.S. cities are racing to fix security vulnerabilities revealed by the devastating terror attacks in Mumbai, and many hotels remain “sitting ducks,” experts tell Newsmax. Security personnel around the country are intensively reviewing what happened to Mumbai to learn more about terrorists’ shifting tactics, according to Fred Burton, vice president of counter-terrorism at Stratfor, a private intelligence firm located in Austin, Texas.

US Troops could also be used as National Police Force under Obama
Obama’s National Police Force may very well be a violation of the Posse Comitatus Act, a federal law that restricts the military's role in domestic law enforcement. At word of the plan, the Cato Institute called it a case of "creeping militarization," according to the Post. Gene Healy, Cato vice president, told the newspaper, "There's a notion that whenever there's an important problem, that the thing to do is to call in the boys in green … and that's at odds with our long-standing tradition of being wary of the use of standing armies to keep the peace." Even the ACLU warned of expansions in "presidential and military authority," regarding this plan.

Dropping the (D) in Blago Coverage
"This is a pattern we've seen for many years, especially when it comes to scandal. We call it drop the (D). You see stories like this [Blagojevich]," all the time NewsBusters Senior Editor Tim Graham told FNC's Neil Cavuto. While some print outlets just bury the Democratic label deep within an article, "a lot of times on television we're not seeing that [the party label] at all. We've seen that in the Blagojevich coverage. You could have watched CBS today and not found a single mention," that the indicted Illinois Governor is a Democrat.

Obama chief of staff Rahm Emanuel ducks reporters' questions
President-elect Barack Obama’s chief of staff, Rahm Emanuel, refused to take questions from reporters this morning about whether he was the Obama “advisor” named in the criminal complaint against Gov. Rod Blagojevich.

Obama Chief Emanuel Claims Death Threats Then Retracts Statement
Obama Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel has still not said whether or not he's been contacted by the FBI for questioning involving the Obama Senate seat scandal. Back at his home, Emanuel appeared "beet-red," according to an ABC News cameraman who was invited inside by Emanuel to use his bathroom this morning. "I'm getting regular death threats. You've put my home address on national television. I'm pissed at the networks. You've intruded too much, " Emanuel said, according to the cameraman. An aide for Emanuel said late Friday afternoon that Emanuel did not make any remarks about receiving death threats. "While we appreciate this camera man's active imagination, this report is inaccurate," said Sarah Feinberg. Responding to Emanuel's comments, ABC News went back and double-checked with the cameraman and we stand by the story.

Jackson Jr had $1 Million Campaign Event for Blago!

Jesse Jackson Jr. discussed raising at least $1 million for Blagojevich's campaign as a way to encourage him to pick Jackson for the job. The event was held on Oct 31st and was sponsored by Iftekhar Shareef, past president of the influential Federation of Indian Associations, a Middle Eastern group.

Blago Now Linked to Planned Parenthood Kickbacks
Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich may resign or be kicked out of the governor's office for charges that he tried to sell Barack Obama's Senate seat to the highest bidder. However, a leading pro-life advocate alleges that Planned Parenthood may have received a Blagojevich kickback as well. Jill Stanek, a pro-life nurse, says she has believed since the Blagojevich scandal broke that Planned Parenthood's close relationship with Blagojevich might be called into question. "I've been saying since this story broke I'm confident there's a pay to play connection between Rod Blagojevich and Planned Parenthood of Chicago and/or its CEO Steve Trombley," she said.

Church Reaffirms Opposition to Cloning, Embryonic Research, and In-Vitro
The Catholic Church released a new document on Friday that reaffirms its opposition to anti-life bioethics practices like human cloning and embryonic stem cell research. The document also tackles problems with in-vitro fertilization and even embryo adoption. The Vatican's Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith issued the papers, known as "The Dignity of a Person" to provide more clarity on the Catholic pro-life teachings as they relate to bioethics issues. It confirms the teachings set forth by the Pontifical Academy for Life that human life begins at conception, or fertilization, and that human beings should not be created by scientists in a lab setting.

Abortion Advocates Didn't Expect Obama Transition Team to Publish Memo
Abortion advocates released a 55-page memo that contain's Barack Obama's marching order for promoting abortion during his administration. Obama apparently is ready to carry out his commands because he posted the memo on his transition web site without their asking. However, it appears abortion advocates were caught by surprise when the memo was posted on the transition web site because they expected top Obama official would keep it to themselves.

Al Gore Global Warming Update – Snow in the Big Easy!
For the first time in nearly four years, snow fell across the New Orleans region this morning, with flurries reported on the north shore and in the city. By around 10 a.m., the snow had mostly stopped, replaced by freezing rain in many places, making driving treacherous.

Greenboozled
Being "green" is the new cool. Your family's "green Christmas" and toy purchases from Greentoys.com this season will advertise to your friends and relatives that you care about the environment. But environmentalists are balking. They say that too many companies are claiming to be green and thus are "greenwashing" everything. Greenpeace describes greenwashing as the act of misleading consumers regarding the environmental practices of a company or the environmental benefits of a product or service. The deeper irony is that greenwashing was the original tactic many environmentalists used to manipulate us into adopting practices that actually do not sustain the environment. An another term for greenwashing would be greenboozled.

Battle earns 10 US Soldiers the Silver Star
By the end of the six-hour battle deep within the Shok Valley, Walton would bear witness to heroics that on Friday would earn his team 10 Silver Stars, the most for a single battle in Afghanistan. Captain Kyle Walton, a Special Forces team leader with the 3rd Special Forces Group and his men described the battle in an interview with The Associated Press last week. Most seem unimpressed they've earned the Army's third-highest award for combat valor. The Silver Star is the nation’s third-highest award for combat valor.

Playboy Offers Nude Pictorial of Mary, the Mother of Jesus Christ
A Mexican issue of the Playboy magazine showing the cover of a model allegedly posing like the Virgin Mary has caused outrage among some Catholics. December is the month in which (m) millions of Mexican Catholics celebrate the festival of the Virgin of Guadalupe, which showcases a rich variety of Virgin Mary images. However the cover of Playboy magazine may have been the last place Catholics would have expected to see a picture they many say depicts the Virgin Mary. In the picture, Playboy model Maria Florencia Onori poses as a representation of the Virgin.

Bush Assaulted and No One Seems to Care
On an Iraq trip President George W. Bush on Sunday hailed progress in the war that defines his presidency and got a size-10 reminder of his unpopularity when a man hurled two shoes at him during a news conference. However the question that remains for me is, “where was the quick response of his Secret Service detail and why did they not do an emergency pullout of the president?” This could have been a gunman. The USSS needs to take it up a notch.

Homeland Security Pick has Worst Record on Disaster Preparedness
Trust for America’s Health (TFAH) and the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation (RWJF) released the sixth annual Ready or Not? Protecting the Public’s Health from Diseases, Disasters, and Bioterrorism report . . . The report contains state-by-state health preparedness scores based on 10 key indicators to assess health emergency preparedness capabilities. More than half of states and D.C. achieved a score of seven or less out of 10 key indicators. Louisiana, New Hampshire, North Carolina, Virginia, and Wisconsin scored the highest with 10 out of 10. Arizona, Connecticut, Florida, Maryland, Montana, and Nebraska tied for the lowest score with five out of 10.
So our incoming Homeland Security Secretary’s state (which she ran for six years) is tied for last in disease, disaster, and bioterror preparedness.
How comforting.

Sen. Gilstrap of KCK Becomes Republican
Sen. Mark Gilstrap of Kansas City, Kan., today stepped across the political divide to join the Republican Party. Gilstrap, who formally switched his party affilation in Wyandotte County, had lost a Democratic primary election in August to a candidate endorsed by Democratic Gov. Kathleen Sebelius and Senate Minority Leader Anthony Hensley, D-Topeka. Gilstrap was attacked by the Sebelius Machine because Gilstrap is Pro-Life and beliefs in fiscal responsibility.

Gilstrap Switch to GOP Makes National Headlines
Mary Kay Culp, the head of Kansas for Life, told LifeNews.com previously that Sebelius is targeting pro-life advocates in the legislature because they have tried to hold her accountable for abuses in the abortion industry. "Senator Mark Gilstrap is a man of integrity. He is truly pro-life. Governor Sebelius has singled him out for defeat simply because he is pro-life," she said. Culp said Gilstrap represents the old-style Democrats who valued faith and family above pro-abortion politics. "The actions of the Governor underscore the fact that the leaders of today's Democratic party have traded those original Democratic values for abortion industry money," Culp said.

The Buying of Senate Elections: Kansas Style
In the 2008 Senate Republican Leadership Committee (SRLC) finance reports, there were substantial expenditures given with Lynn, among others, listed as a recipient. The SRLC is run my liberal GOP Senators at present. Here is the proof: On Oct. 15, an expenditure of $49,576 was allocated by the Senate Republican Leadership Committee with purpose of postage for candidates Morgan, Pine, Marshall, Lynn, Reitz and Brungardt. Conservative Senator Julia Lynn (R-Olathe) was also listed along with others as a recipient of a $13,471 expenditure on Oct. 10 and a $7,582 expenditure on Oct. 15. Later, on Oct. 22, Lynn was listed twice, once in a $25,664 expenditure, and once in a $9,797 expenditure. Lynn said the financial assistance during her campaign had absolutely nothing to do with her decision to vote for Morris and Vratil, and to support Schmidt.

Gas may go up with EPA act
Some local government leaders are now saying it looks likely that Lawrence will be included in a new EPA air-quality program that could require motorists to purchase higher-priced gasoline during summer months. “This can end up costing us dearly as a community,” said an owner of the Lawrence Zarco 66 gasoline stations. Specifically, it could cost an extra 10 cents to 20 cents per gallon for specially formulated gasoline that is designed to help keep ozone levels in check. For the past several years, the Kansas City metro area has been labeled by the Environmental Protection Agency as an area that currently does not meet the minimum air-quality standards when it comes to ozone. Now, EPA leaders are looking to place the same regulations on adjacent Douglas, Miami and Leavenworth counties.

Conservative State Senator to Run for Congress
Sen. Tim Huelskamp, the veteran Fowler Republican, has announced he'll pursue a seat in the U.S. Congress for 2010. Huelskamp wants to fill the First Congressional District opening left by western Kansas' Rep. Jerry Moran. Moran already has announced his intention to run for the seat being vacated by Sam Brownback in the US Senate. Huelskamp made his decision after meetings in Washington, D.C., left him “somber and fearful” of the direction the government is taking under the new leadership of President-elect Barack Obama and other Democrats. “Leaders in Washington in both political parties have lost touch with the fundamental principles that most Americans live our lives by every day - common sense, fiscal responsibility, and the traditional moral values and respect for individual freedoms that built this country,” Huelskamp said in a statement.

Newman would make two more visits to the National Tournament before beginning the move to NCAA Division II in 2006-07.

“Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other.”

President John Adams

From Proverbs 15:15
“Better a little with fear of the LORD than a great fortune with anxiety.”

Gospel according to John 1:6-8, 19-28

6: There was a man sent from God, whose name was John.
7: He came for testimony, to bear witness to the light, that all might believe through him. 8: He was not the light, but came to bear witness to the light.
19: And this is the testimony of John, when the Jews sent priests and Levites from Jerusalem to ask him, "Who are you?"
20: He confessed, he did not deny, but confessed, "I am not the Christ."
21: And they asked him, "What then? Are you Elijah?" He said, "I am not." "Are you the prophet?" And he answered, "No."
22: They said to him then, "Who are you? Let us have an answer for those who sent us. What do you say about yourself?"
23: He said, "I am the voice of one crying in the wilderness, `Make straight the way of the Lord,' as the prophet Isaiah said."
24: Now they had been sent from the Pharisees.
25: They asked him, "Then why are you baptizing, if you are neither the Christ, nor Elijah, nor the prophet?"
26: John answered them, "I baptize with water; but among you stands one whom you do not know,
27: even he who comes after me, the thong of whose sandal I am not worthy to untie." 28: This took place in Bethany beyond the Jordan, where John was baptizing.

By Sheriff (Ret) Currie Myers

Where is William Wallace?

William Wallace was a Scottish knight and landowner who is known for leading a resistance during the Wars of Scottish Independence and regarded as a patriot and national hero. Wallace enters history when he killed William Heselrig, the English Sheriff of Lanark, because of Briton’s tyranny over the Scots and to avenge the death of his young wife whom was killed by the sheriff’s men.

Wallace is an example of men that have placed their own personal and professional wealth aside and fought for freedom. Freedom that inspired our own Founding Fathers to respond to Briton’s tyranny and start the United State of America some 475 years later. Men like George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Alexander Hamilton, James Madison and John Adams.

Yes, our Founding Fathers understood tyranny and provided words to guide us even today. Such as:

  • James Madison – “I believe there are more instances of the abridgement of freedom of the people by gradual and silent encroachments by those in power than by violent and sudden usurpations.”
  • Alexander Hamilton – “It's not tyranny we desire; it's a just, limited, federal government.”
  • George Washington – “Government is not reason; it is not eloquent; it is force. Like fire, it is a dangerous servant and a fearful master.”
  • Thomas Jefferson – “All tyranny needs to gain a foothold is for people of good conscience to remain silent.”
  • John Adams – “Democracy while it lasts is more bloody than either aristocracy or monarchy. Remember, democracy never lasts long. It soon wastes, exhausts, and murders itself. There is never a democracy that did not commit suicide.”
  • William Wallace – “I'm William Wallace, and the rest of you will be spared. Go back to England and tell them... Scotland is free!”

Now 233 years later, American citizens are beginning to see a new breed of tyranny. A tyranny creeping from within our own government, at the local, state, and Federal level. America today and in the next few coming years will continue on its course of government bureaucracy, regulations, censorship, taxation and civic immorality.

Will America’s silent majority continue to choose to remain silent or will we stand and act against this tyranny from within?

Is there a new William Wallace ready to stand and lead us to true freedom? I pray this is so before, as Thomas Jefferson said, "Those who hammer their guns into plowshares will plow for those who do not."

Will you stand with me and fight for freedom?
