Investigative Reporting or Just Plain Stalking

Today’s drive-by, liberal controlled media outlets are hurting financially. The economics behind the problem is a mere supply and demand issue. People are aware of the bias in the media and therefore, more and more people are tuning out television stations and print newspapers. Kansas City has too many television stations for the market here and as a result the bottom feeders, such as KCTV5 must try to gain attention by making the news instead of reporting the news.

This was the case recently in a supposed expose of Johnson County District Attorney Phill Kline. KCTV5 spent six months “investigating” Kline and his apparent lack of work time as well as residency. They based their “evidence” on time logs from electronic door access information to the DA’s office as well as surveillances of Mr. Kline’s wife and daughter. These surveillances include following the DA’s family to events, his daughter to school and watching their home until wee hours in the morning.

Now, some teachers and residents are coming forward and indicating that KCTV5 reporters were seen as unknown threats to the school facility and their neighborhood and were worried that the reporters were sexual predators or perhaps a group trying to harm the school in some way. Ash-har Quraishi is KCTV5's chief investigative reporter. Before coming to KCTV5, Quraishi served as CNN's Islamabad bureau chief, responsible for the network's coverage of Pakistan. It makes one wonder why Qurashi went from CNN Bureau Chief in Pakistan to “Investigative Reporter” for this station. After seeing the report I can understand why this is the case however.

This television news station has turned out to be a political hack towards anyone who is in they’re opinion is right of center. In the end, this story only reiterates the left-wing bias of the majority of media outlets. The stalking of one’s family is out of bounds, even if that person is an elected official. It is reasons such as this that good people do not want to ever run for office and try to make our country a better place to live. Every elected official should be called upon to publicly denounce KCTV5 and Quraishi for their tactics because those same officials may be next in their “investigative” reporting!
