Hunter Wins Computerized Poll
Congressman Duncan Hunter received the most votes according to the computerized scoring in which TKF readers participated. Hunter, a solid Federalist-minded conservative won a very close race to Senator Fred Thompson, another Federalist-minded conservative. The computerized scoring does not account for personal favorites. Instead, the computer calculates the best candidate according to your particular views on the questions asked.
Hunter and Thompson were in every top five score of the readers and finished first or second in the majority of respondents. Third place in the scoring was Senator John McCain. Big surprises were the lack of scores for Mitt Romney and Rudy Giuliani, who are both current GOP leaders at the national level. However, TKF readers are not political neophytes and are very schooled on their issues. There were no scores for any of the Democrat candidates.
Naturally, many important issues were left off the questions and we hope another quiz is around the corner with even more questions for the candidates, such as additional tax questions, spending philosophy, and Constitutional issues; such as Gun Rights, McCain-Feingold, Eminent Domain, and the Fairness Doctrine. One candidate, Alan Keyes, was not on the ballot, as he was not declared at the time the computerized model was built. Jim Gilmore has dropped from the race.
