Liberalism and America’s Failing Infrastructure

With the ever-increasing taxes that state, county and city officials raise each and every year, one would think that our infrastructure would be safe and sound. But think again. In today’s liberally minded political climate that concept has affected local and state officials greatly. Now our country’s taxes go to social programs, government bureaucracies, and feel good objectives.

Politicians today prefer to build government buildings, institute social welfare programs, develop parklands, take private property for public use under inappropriate eminent domain, and over-regulate businesses. In our Capitalistic Democracy, established by our Founding Fathers, we have literally developed a political climate that hates capitalism. Today, our elected officials want to regulate smoking and transfats. They want to establish policies for global warning and mandate quotas for work and education. When people do wrong we want to understand instead of punish and we embrace multi-culturalism over Americanism. We want to limit the importance of Christ and take God out of the pubic square.

According to the principles of Federalism government should play an important and specific mission in order to help our citizens prosper. Government protects people from harm’s way through the defense of our country and through public safety. Government should build roads, bridges, highways, Interstate systems and keep them upgraded. Government should provide safe water, makes sure our supply for energy is safe through effective monitoring of electrical grids, oil reserves and nuclear power. Government should provide safe disposal of our wastewater in order to mitigate illness and disease. The government should help regulate banking and have an effective Treasury. And finally, the government should offer a needed hand to someone at they’re lowest point. There are naturally some other core competencies of our Government but hopefully you see the difference between Federalism and Liberalism.

As citizens we must be better educated on why America was established and how it should be managed. We should understand the concepts of a Capitalistic Democracy and how our Constitution works. We should look to the Federalist Papers and our history to help us understand how it all works together. American’s important infrastructure is failing and there is a reason behind its failure. The source is un-disciplined tax behavior and a failure to embrace our true and founding roots.
