Despite one council member’s strong objections, Roeland Park’s proposed comprehensive plan is moving forward with a recommendation to construct a new $5 million city hall. Councilman Scott Gregory said that the city’s population was declining and that there wasn’t sufficient need for a new building. He also said it was fiscally irresponsible to wait five years to develop the property.
Lenexa to increase taxes over the next five years

“I don’t hear from people saying taxes are too high, but saying that they’re enjoying the city services that they have.” Says Mayor Mike Boehm. To close the financial gap, the City Council will consider whether to gradually raise its property tax for the next five years.
