Congress should say no to another cigarette tax
http://capwiz.com/americansforprosperity/issues/alert/?alertid=9966266&PROCESS=Take+Action
Some members of Congress want to pass a huge cigarette tax hike to fund the expansion of a government-run health insurance program for children (State Children’s Health Insurance Plan) who are not poor enough to qualify for Medicaid. Whatever the merits of this program, its expansion should not be financed by hiking regressive cigarette taxes. Kansas Senator Pat Roberts voted against an amendment to the Fiscal Year 2008 Budget that would hike the federal tobacco tax by 61 cents. Thank Senator Roberts for his stand and urge him to continue to oppose an ill-conceived hike in the federal tobacco tax hike.
