Glenn Beck: “The Letter” from Janet Contreras
We want all of you to stop focusing on your reelection and do the job we want done, not the job you want done or the job your party wants done. You work for us and at this rate I guarantee you not for long because we are coming. We will be heard and we will be represented. You think we're so busy with our lives that we will never come for you? We are the formerly silent majority, all of us who quietly work, pay taxes, obey the law, vote, save money, keep our noses to the grindstone and we are now looking up at you. You have awakened us, the patriotic spirit so strong and so powerful that it had been sleeping too long. You have pushed us too far. Our numbers are great. They may surprise you. For every one of us who will be there, there will be hundreds more that could not come. Unlike you, we have their trust. We will represent them honestly, rest assured. They will be at the polls on voting day to usher you out of office. We have cancelled vacations. We will use our last few dollars saved. We will find the representation among us and a grassroots campaign will flourish. We didn't ask for this fight. But the gloves are coming off. We do not come in violence, but we are angry. You will represent us or you will be replaced with someone who will. There are candidates among us when he will rise like a Phoenix from the ashes that you have made of our constitution.

Democrats’ $1-Trillion Health Care Plan
The Congressional Budget Office (CBO) reports that a government overhaul of America’s health care system would cost at least $1 trillion and would mean the loss of private coverage for an estimated 23 million Americans, according to a preliminary analysis.
7 Out of 10 Disagree with Obama’s Policies
But the poll suggests Mr. Obama faces challenges on multiple fronts, including growing concerns about government spending and the bailout of auto companies. A majority of people also disapprove of his decision to close the military prison at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. Nearly seven in 10 survey respondents said they had concerns about federal interventions into the economy, including Mr. Obama's decision to take an ownership stake in General Motors Corp., limits on executive compensation and the prospect of more government involvement in health care. The negative feeling toward the GM rescue was reflected elsewhere in the survey as well.
Doctors' boos show Obama's tough road
Barack Obama isn't used to hearing boos. The response he got Monday from doctors at an American Medical Association meeting was a sign his road is only going to get rockier as he tries to sell his plan to overhaul the nation's health care system. The boos erupted when Obama told the doctors in Chicago he wouldn't try to help them win their top legislative priority—limits on jury damages in medical malpractice cases.
Sen. Coburn questions 100 stimulus projects
Repairs for rural bridges, an under-highway safe crossing for turtles and efforts to protect the sage grouse population are among 100 projects a Republican senator pointed to Monday as questionable federal stimulus spending. The list by Sen. Tom Coburn, R-Okla., includes projects others would identify as ideal for creating jobs and benefiting generations of Americans: skateboard parks, streetscapes, upgrades of park facilities, bike trails and parking garages. Coburn's list is partially a collection of news stories that questioned local projects to be funded under President Barack Obama's economic recovery program.

Obama Claim of 46 Million Uninsured 'Americans' Includes 10 Million Foreigners
The claim made by the White House this month that 46 million “Americans” lack health insurance is false because that number includes almost 10 million people who are not “Americans” but in fact citizens of foreign countries who happen to be present in the United States, according to data from the U.S. Census Bureau.
So much for Obama’s Transparency Promise
The Obama administration is fighting to block access to names of visitors to the White House arguing that a president doesn't have to reveal who comes calling to influence policy decisions. Despite President Barack Obama's pledge to introduce a new era of transparency to Washington, and despite two rulings by a federal judge that the records are public.
Obama takes steps to take over private businesses
The Obama administration this week will propose the most significant new regulation of the financial industry since the Great Depression, including a new watchdog agency. Under the plan, expected to be released Wednesday, the government would have new powers to seize key companies -- such as insurance giant American International Group Inc. -- whose failure jeopardizes the financial system. Currently, the government's authority to seize companies is mostly limited to banks.
Israeli’s Prevent Assassination Attempt on Carter
Israeli security sources said that the Shin Bet (Israel Security Agency) had learned of plans to target Carter and had passed on the information to the former president's security detail in "real time." According to Palestinian sources, terrorists linked with al Qaida hid a number of improved explosive devices along a road that Carter's convoy was scheduled to travel on inside Gaza. Hamas forces reportedly uncovered the IEDs and destroyed them after the ISA informed Hamas of the threat.
CBO: ObamaCare will cost $1T, still leaves 30 million uninsured
The Congressional Budget Office has tried crunching the numbers on Barack Obama’s plan to reform health care, which Obama says will save money and protect the uninsured. The CBO director on his official blog says, “Wrong!” — on both counts. The reform plan will cost more than a trillion dollars over the next decade, and while it will put 39 million people on insurance plans, it will drive off more than 23 million more from their existing plans.
Sebelius: Maybe Ten Years to Ramp Up Government Run Health Care
Covering the uninsured could take several years, maybe up to ten years, even if Congress passes a bill and President Barack Obama signs it into law this fall, HHS Secretary Kathleen Sebelius said Tuesday.
Insider Trading? Sen. Durbin Sold $115,000 of Stock After Briefing
Sen. Dick Durbin (D-IL), the Democratic Party's Whip, unloaded more than $115,000 worth of stocks and mutual fund shares as the U.S. stock markets plunged last September.
The Illinois lawmaker's 2008 financial disclosure statement reveals that he sold mutual fund shares worth more than $42,000 on Sept. 19, the day after then-Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson and Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke urged congressional leaders to come up with legislation to aid financially troubled banks.
Gas prices rise for 50th straight day
Retail gas prices climbed for the 50th straight day Wednesday, and crude prices that had slumped all week bounced back. Historically, filling station prices tend to rise during the summer as millions of Americans take to the road. But a surge in crude prices during the past few months and less production from the refiners that make gasoline has added pressure on prices.
DeMint Supports Rubio Over Crist in Florida
Conservative Sen. Jim DeMint, R-SC, is endorsing upstart Marco Rubio over favorite Charlie Crist in the Republican primary of the Florida Senate race. DeMint’s choice illustrates the current tension in the Republican Party between the moderate and conservative wings. Gov. Crist is a moderate, while former state House speaker Rubio is a conservative.
Dealers Say They Were Led Astray in Chrysler's Final Days
Jim Press, Chrysler's charismatic deputy chief executive, went to Capitol Hill last week and spoke solemnly about the "very difficult decision" of terminating 789 of the automaker's dealers across the country. He assured members of a House committee that the company's executives had "taken every step to make this a soft landing for the dealers involved" and promised to help them as much as possible. But many jilted dealers have described it more as a crash landing. After all, they still remember the call.
Local Fines Out of Control: Parking Tickets for Parking in Own Driveway
Although not outlined in the city charter, a city memo has allowed workers with the city of Toledo’s Division of Streets, Bridges and Harbor to issue parking citations to citizens.
It was learned over the weekend that Susan Frederick, acting commissioner with streets, bridges and harbor, fined several motorists for parking in their driveways if cars are not parked correctly. "I've lived here 43 years and last Thursday we had our 44th wedding anniversary," said Charles Robertson, who received a parking violation. "I got a present from the city. Isn't that nice?"
Pro-Life Democrat Saves Abortion Funding Limits Obama Suggested Overturning
One of the rare pro-life Democrats in Congress has saved one of the limits on abortion funding that President Barack Obama suggested be removed from the federal budget.
When Obama released his budget suggestions in May, he asked members of Congress to allow the Legal Services Corporation to use tax dollars to pay for pro-abortion litigation.
The Obama budget recommendation changed the language governing funding for the Legal Services Corporation (LSC) and loosened it to allow LSC grantees to conduct abortion litigation. It prohibited direct funding of abortion litigation but overturned restrictions preventing LSC grantees from shifting other taxpayer funds to a separate account for pro-abortion activities. However, Rep. Alan Mollohan, a pro-life Democrat from West Virginia who is the subcommittee chairman, came to the rescue. When he wrote H.R. 2487, the FY10 Commerce, Justice, Science Appropriations bill that normally has the LSC abortion litigation limits, he ignored Obama's suggestions and kept the pro-life provision in place.

Parents of sextuplets rejected doctors’ advice to abort
A mother of sextuplets in Northern Ireland says that she and her husband rejected doctors’ advice to abort several of her babies, whom she called “a wonderful gift from God.” All six of Austin and Nuala Conway's children were born 14 weeks early by Caesarean section. They are now in stable health in intensive care. “The Doctors told us about the risks we faced if we went ahead with the pregnancy and that we should abort the babies. Doctors gave us a couple of days to think about it, but we knew without discussion what we both wanted.”
Evidence Surfaces on Hitler Plot to Kill Pius XII
Rumors have persisted for a long time that Adolf Hitler wanted to kidnap or kill Pope Pius XII, but facts have come to light supporting the theory, adding to ever-growing evidence clearing the wartime pontiff’s name. According to his account, a secret meeting took place July 29-30, 1943, in Venice to inform the head of Italian counterintelligence, Gen. Cesare Ame, of the Führer’s wish to punish Italians for the arrest of Benito Mussolini by kidnapping or killing Pius XII and the king of Italy. The news is further testament to a well-known fact in church circles: Pius XII was certainly no friends of the Nazis. It follows a growing groundswell of opinion, also among many prominent Jews, that Pius XII not only did all he could to save Jews during World War II but also risked his life to help them.
Don’t Call Me Ma’am!
At a Senate Environment and Public Works Committee chairwoman, Sen. Barbara Boxer (D-CA), had a request for Army Corps of Engineers division leader, Brigadier General Michael Walsh. During a terse exchange, as Boxer pressed Walsh on why the levees in New Orleans are still not repaired nearly four years after Hurricane Katrina, she said to Walsh: "Could you say 'senator' instead of 'ma'am? It's just a thing. I worked so hard to get that title. I'd appreciate it." Hey Senator, military and law enforcement are trained to be respectful and from day one are taught to say Ma’am or Sir. It’s a sign of respect!
Senator DeMint lets Senator Boxer of it over Ma’am remark
From today’s “America’s Morning News” with John McCaslin and Melanie Morgan, a stark reminder that the conservative base’s favorite senator, Jim DeMint of South Carolina has never let collegiality keep him from speaking his mind.

Crafted by artist David Adickes of Houston, Texas, the Obama bus is scheduled to be put on display at Mount Rushmore.
