The Sheriff’s Department has two full-time deputies assigned to investigate offenders who don’t comply with the law that requires them to register their current home addresses with the department. The Sex Offender Registration Enforcement unit, or SORE, also will make sure that offenders aren’t living within 1,000 feet of schools or day-care centers.
