We’re not in Kansas anymore, Toto!

Kansas, the heartland of America, the once steadfast stalwart of Republicanism and mainstream conservative values has gone left and in a big way. Yes, the people that once stood against slavery, promoted family values, embodied Entrepreneurism over big government is now a state that champions all sorts of liberalism. I offer this empirical data has evidence of my claim:

  • Kansas ranks 32nd in the nation in Personal Income Tax. Higher than Delaware, Connecticut and Massachusetts.
  • Kansas ranks 35th in Capital Gains Taxes. Higher than Delaware, Connecticut and Massachusetts.
  • Kansas ranks 29th in Corporate Income Tax. Higher than Maryland and just ahead of Connecticut.
  • Kansas ranks 32nd in State Excise Tax. Higher than Vermont, Connecticut, Massachusetts and Rhode Island.
  • Kansas ranks 39th in Property Taxes. Higher than Massachusetts, District of Columbia, Maryland and Delaware.
  • Kansas ranks 35th in Entrepreneurism. Higher than Connecticut, New Hampshire and Vermont.
  • Kansas ranks 33rd in total crime. Higher than Maryland, California, Illinois, Michigan, Massachusetts, Pennsylvania, New Jersey and New York.
  • Kansas ranks 30th in Gasoline Taxes. Higher than Delaware, District of Columbia, Massachusetts and New Jersey.
  • Kansas ranks 47th in government workers. Higher than virtually everyone except the District of Columbia.
  • Kansas ranks 43rd in government spending. At least we beat Massachusetts on this one.
  • And finally, Kansas has become one of the largest late term abortion providers in the United States.
These are incredible numbers that really should slap us awake with understanding the real economic and social crises that is looming in a once great state. Our populace has become apathetic and disconnected towards politics and elections and we have let the drive-by media decide our future and our children’s future. Open your window. Hear that giant sucking sound? It’s the Kansas economy and good old fashion Kansas principles rolling across our plains like a tornado and heading to parts unknown.
