Krauthammer: The great peasant revolt of 2010
For liberals, the observation that "the peasants are revolting" is a pun. For conservatives, it is cause for uncharacteristic optimism. No matter how far the ideological pendulum swings in the short term, in the end the bedrock common sense of the American people will prevail.

Dominican Sisters of Mary, Mother of the Eucharist to Appear on Oprah February 9
These women are a beautiful contradiction to the religion of Relativism and New Age theology. These orthodox Catholic Dominican Sisters of Mary were founded in 1997 by four Dominican sisters responding to John Paul II’s call for a New Evangelization. In the 13 years of their existence, they have grown to almost 100 members. Their newly constructed motherhouse is already filled to capacity. Currently, the average age of the sisters is 26 and the average age of their postulants is 21.
“We are Nazareth,” Cardinal Schonborn Declares of Europe
Our family got to visit our son who attends Benedictine College and experience listening to a cardinal who could very well be the next pope. During the homily at Mass, Christoph Cardinal Schonborn, who is also the archbishop of Vienna, reflected on the Gospel reading for Sunday, January 31, and compared Nazareth to Europe. He expressed one of the signs of hope is Benedictine College. A “New Evangelization” has been called for by Pope John Paul II and Pope Benedict XVI. The cardinal is the spiritual father to the Little Sisters of the Lamb, a Dominican order whose homeland is in France. They have taken up roots in Kansas City, KS to fulfill that call for a “New Evangelization” and will build a modest monastery in the heart of the city among the poor.
“Thine Eyes” Exposes Media "Fraud" at March for Life
Not again!!! Where was the media??? EWTN, the Catholic network, carried the March for Life in Washington, D.C. and all the activities live for both the vigil and day long events, but where was the rest of the media??? “Thine Eyes” documentary had hoped to set the record straight. This year, approx. 300,000 people, mostly high school and college age, came out on a cold day to peacefully and prayerfully protest the killing of unborn babies in their mother’s wombs and listen to the horrific stories of how women and men regret lost parenthood. These teenagers saw the cover up by the media and will not forget. This generation is the most pro-life ever! Did I mention that the majority were women at the March?
Men of Valor/Women of Virtue Conference: National Coalition for the Protection of Children and Families
I had the great pleasure to work with Cathy Cosby and her husband Phillip in preparation for the 2010 Men of Valor/Women of Virtue Conferences. On January 29 and 30, approx. 1,500 men and women were in attendance on Friday evening and 1,200 men and women attended on Saturday. They are filling a much needed void in responding to the over sexualized culture and its consequences to children, families and society. The most impressive thing to me is how Cathy and Phillip are able to get Protestants and Catholics to work together for the common good on these important moral issues. The last speaker on Friday night was Scott Hahn, a popular Catholic theologian and author. He referred to their unique ability to pull all Christians together and said, “God must be very pleased”. Many in the audience cheered this statement. Check out their website for resources and upcoming events.

30. And the Apostles, returning to Jesus, reported to him everything that they had done and taught.?31. And he said to them, “Go out alone, into a deserted place, and rest for a little while.” For there were so many who were coming and going, that they did not even have time to eat.?32. And climbing into a boat, they went away to a deserted place alone.?33. And they saw them going away, and many knew about it. And together they ran by foot from all the cities, and they arrived before them.?34. And Jesus, going out, saw a great multitude. And he took pity on them, because they were like sheep without a shepherd, and he began to teach them many things.
Editorial: Kansas Tax Increase KMBC General Manager Wayne Godsey
Amid an ongoing financial crisis, Kansas Gov. Mark Parkinson has proposed an increase in state sales taxes and higher tobacco taxes in order to avoid further cuts in schools and other state services.
Before increasing taxes, officials should ask themselves why state tax revenues are expected to decline for the fourth straight year. It is because Kansas Citizens and small businesses are making less money as they struggle through the current recession. Higher state taxes would burden them even more.
Under the governor's proposal, the sales tax increase would expire in three years, unless extended by lawmakers. When is the last time you heard of a tax going away? The sales tax increase passed in 2002 was also supposed to expire, but the legislature voted to continue it.
As difficult as it may be, lawmakers should resist raising taxes and tell schools and state agencies to do more with less. Ordinary citizens are doing it, why shouldn't the state?
