America's firearm industry is about to lose all of its ability to export. The proposed changes in regulations that have come up in the last few days include the following. New Regulations propose that all individual firearms require an 'End User Certificate' if exported outside the United States so that a Canadian hunter who buys a Mossberg Shotgun will face months of delay and some $400 in administrative fees before his neighborhood hunting supply store can complete the order. If the Canadian then sells the gun to somebody else and the US Government learns about it, he could face arrest on next visit.

US firms are now no longer allowed to export 7.62 x 51mm, 7.62x 39mm, 5.56mm. 30.06 calibre or .50 BMG ammunition to a number of friendly countries, and 9mm, .45 ACP and 12 Gauge ammunition may soon follow. Ammunition prices in Canada are already climbing enormously.

This is going to do tremendous damage to some of the last strong manufacturing companies left in the United States, and Eastern European, South American and Chinese companies will soon fill the void.

• You will have to carry a photo ID firearms license.
• A training class is required to be licensed.
• Disclosure of your storage method is required for license.
• A thumb print is required for license.
• Every sale recorded by the federal government.
• If you move, and don't tell the Attorney General within 60 days, you are a criminal.
• If a firearm is stolen and you don't report it, you are a criminal.
• There will be no grandfathered firearms.
• If you do not obtain a license and report every firearm you currently own, you are a criminal.
• There will be a license fee and a fee for the "services" provided at purchase time.
• Licenses must be renewed every 5 years.
